Age/Era : 2010-2018

After the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982 during the Lebanese Civil War, the Israeli army withdrew from the Lebanese south in 2000. Today the border between both countries is closed and guarded by UN soldiers. Rosh HaNikra (engl. Head of the Grottoes) is the northernmost point of Israel, closer to the Lebanese capital Beirut than to Jerusalem/Al-Quds.
